Living in NYC there are only a few brick and mortar stores that carry green beauty brands, so when I heard that a Credo Beauty had opened in SOHO I was beyond thrilled. Last weekend I finally had the pleasure of visiting. The saleswoman was incredibly helpful in showing me around and introducing me to a few new products. I thought I would share what I purchased and my first impressions of them after a week of trying them out.
Pressed Bronzer in “Miami Beach”:
When I walked into Credo Beauty and saw that they had Lily LoLo, I was so excited! They have been on my “to try” list for a while, due to their cute packaging and reasonable prices. What caught my eye was that they have PRESSED products! So much less mess than traditional loose mineral makeup. They offer 3 different bronzer shades, which is really impressive. I chose “Miami Beach” which is their lightest shade. So far I have been really enjoying it. It gives the perfect amount of color, I tend to be a bit hesitant when it comes to bronzer, so I appreciate that it’s hard to make this product look heavy handed. The texture is velvety and soft to the touch, making it easy to blend. Lastly, it’s truly a matte formula, no chunks of glitter, which I really appreciate in a bronzer.
Illuminator in “Champagne”:
Now I was very close to picking up their “Contour Duo” since it comes with both a contour shade and a highlighter, but what made me decide to buy two separate items instead was this illuminator. While the highlighter in the contour duo is nice enough, once I swatched this illuminator I knew it was the winner. The texture of the illuminator is smoother and the shimmer is more refined than the highlighter in the contour duo. Although the color is called “Champagne” I find that it wears as more of a neutral/beige shade.
W3ll People Universalist Colorstick no. 9 “Nude Flush”:
I love a cream blush, and with the summer winding down I was looking for one that might pair well with falls impending darker lips and more intense eye makeup. This is it! A good neutral color that would let the rest of my makeup do the talking while still giving me a healthy glow. The color is a neutral dusty rose, but certainly not pink in any way. I’ve been using it every day since I purchased it and so far it has paired well with multiple looks.
Studio 78 Liquid Lipstick Lets Get Married in “01 Ivory Wedding” :
*(picture above is not the color I purchased)*
How could I leave Credo without a lipstick? I couldn’t. Hence this liquid lipstick wonder came into my life. First off, the packaging is awesome. It comes in a click bottom pen, which reminds me of my days with YSL Touche Éclat. The color is a nude/brown and the best part? It lasts and lasts and lasts. All day. Really amazing for a natural product. I also love that it sets to a semi-matte finish, also something I have found hard to find in the green beauty world.
Have anyone visited Credo Beauty in NYC? Any other green beauty stores I should check out? Let me know! X
