It is hump day and to get your through it, I am sharing round 2 of my “Best of Green Beauty 2016” series. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the first post of this series which is all about makeup. This next post is all about that body! I tried a lot of different body products this year, but these are the best of the bunch. Like the last post, I only included a short blurb to keep things at a digestible length, but as always if a particular product’s catches your eye and you want to know more, just ask!
Body oil: Everyone (by EO) “Good Love” Body Oil
Obviously. I have yet to stray away from this glorious liquid magic. It’s affordable, feels amazing on, absorbs quickly. You just can’t beat it.
Deodorant: Meow Meow Tweet Baking Soda Free Grapefruit Deodorant Cream
This was a really tough one to call. This year I discovered a lot of amazing deodorants which is no easy feat. But the Meow Meow Tweet took first place for being the most affordable. Now I know $14 doesn’t seem that cheap for a deo BUT for me, this stuff lasts a loooong time. Way longer than any stick I have tried. Oh ya and it works! No stink for me, and since its baking soda free, no irritation either. YAY!
Shampoo: Andalou Naturals Age Defying Shampoo for Thinning Hair
So, I have a hormone imbalance that has caused my hair to thin a LOT. Which sucks. I used to have the most gorgeous locks…But I digress. While I can’t say I have noticed a huge improvement since using this, I also don’t really expect a shampoo to fix this issue since its a internal one. But, I will say it smells so clean and refreshing, and I love the way my hair feels clean but not dry or stripped.
Conditioner: Acure Conditioner in “Lemongrass and Argan Stem Cell”
Amazing ingredients, smells amazing, leaves my hair soft but not weighed down. Affordable! Win win win.
Hair Styling: Briogeo: Rosarco Milk reparative leave-in conditioning spray,
Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Spray,
and Roasrco Blow Dry Perfection Heat Protectant Crème
All three have blown me away. Hair styling products have been one of the areas in which I have struggled the most to find green alternatives that really are comparable to conventional products, but these have totally filled the void! The volumizer, gives volume! The heat protectant gives me a perfect blow out and the leave in spray detangles effortlessly. And they all smell sooo good, way better than any conventional scents that’s for sure.
Self Tanner: Beauty by Earth Self Tanner
I am not someone who self tans. Never have been. But then I tried this. It works, I don’t look orange, and it was surprisingly easy to apply with their application mit. I loved the results so much, I think I have become someone who will self tan on the regular!
Toothpaste: Kiss My Face Fluoride Free Triple Action Gel
I love the way this stuff really gives me that minty fresh clean feeling without making my lips dry out. Does that happen to anyone else who uses toothpastes with SLS? It also does not contain any artificial flavors, phthalates, gluten, or parabens. AND it’s cruelty free. All that at the same exact price as conventional toothpaste.
Mouthwash: Desert Essence Whitening Plus Mouthwash
Now, this is admittedly the first natural mouth wash I have tried, but I really don’t see a reason to try another one. It makes my mouth feel so clean and fresh, plus it helps whiten teeth. And since it goes in my mouth, I am happy about the fact that the ingredients are squeaky clean 😉
This concludes the second post of my three part series on best products of 2016! Want more details on one of these lovely products? Comment below!
